Conan is a Cimmerian of the Hyperborean Age. He is the most famous heroic charater of the myth and sorcery stories ever created. Robert E Howard will always be famous for such a masterpiece. Many other heroes were also created by Robert E Howard, like Kull The Conqueror, etc, but Conan exceeded them all.
